“We live in a world that teaches the importance of ambition, efficiency, expediency, getting things done to produce the quickest results. It does not teach or encourage us to relax and just be where we are. In fact, if we are not crazy active and doing a million different things, we get labeled as lazy or unambitious.”
― Baron Baptiste, Perfectly Imperfect: The Art and Soul of Yoga Practice
Starting on my own yoga journey almost 3 years ago, I can not speak enough about how the practice has positively influenced my life.
As a Yoga Alliance certified Ashtanga instructor and regular practitioner, I recognize the stigmas of yoga, the goals and pressures of today’s go-go, scheduled out society, and the intimidating appearance of those super-limber studio yogis. In my practice with you, my goal is to blend the worlds of Ashtanga and more free-form vinyasa, to make the practice more readily accessible to those who are new and want to learn. My hope is to share yoga in a way that feels individualized, and can help unlock something new in you—something I sought after deeply within myself when I first began this practice. My goal for you is not only to make Ashtanga accessible to you, but also to cultivate a practice that is sustainable.
