A few notes to touch on before class:
1) Please remember to bring a mat. Mats are required; a sweat towel and water are recommended :)
(If you’re in the market for a mat, you can read my research on them here. Long story short, if you’re unsure or just dabbling, pick up a $20 mat and start practicing. If and when you’re ready to make an investment, this is the mat I recommend.)
2) Yoga is for everyone. Our practice—our mats, are a space for personal expression and reflection. Wear what makes you feel comfortable. Personally, I recommend staying away from super baggy shorts/pants or T-shirts, as it could inhibit your practice or be distracting, but it’s ultimately about your comfort. Please, be courteous of others and avoid heavy perfumes or colognes.
3) No shoes, no socks :)
4) Have fun! Yoga, Ashtanga in particular, can be so serious, but it’s important to remember our mats are places for us to grow. Don’t take it so seriously, try something new, and have fun!!
